How it all began…

Once upon a time, our story began with a dog named Lucy. Lucy was our first fur-baby, and she lived a long and healthy life. We have carried on her legacy for over 25 years and have maintained a passion for giving back to pets in return for all that they give us. Project Pet RAK was born from our passion to do more. The Shook Family started Grandma Lucy’s, a human-grade pet food company, in 1999 with the dream of bringing safe and healthy foods to pets. They have been fortunate to be able to support different pet-related organizations over the years, we were inspired to shift their focus to include service dogs as they have a special place in our hearts. Their son Hunter has Autism and they have had first-hand experience with many of the amazing people in the special needs community. The newfound freedoms service dogs give many of these people is inspirational, and they knew then that they wanted to help more of these animals and the people they support. 

We are proud to have donated over 1 million meals, supported over 400 charity organizations and fed over 250 service and therapy dogs. With help from you, we look forward to bringing even more healthy meals to dogs in need!
